​From daylight to sundown, Kirkland Urban came alive with families, friends, and neighbors of all ages to usher in the Year of the Snake with a fun-filled day of tradition, cultural celebrations, performances and activities. Read on for a recap from the day’s festivities!  

​Crowds poured into the plaza where various booths were set up in honor of the holiday.  

​An arts and crafts booth featured a station for folks to make their very own lanterns to take home. It was a chance for all ages to express their creativity with inspired, colorful materials.  

​Kirkland Urban shops and restaurants set up booths to welcome all to the celebration! Restaurant Vinason handed out homemade snacks, and Mud Bay featured themed toys and treats along with a raffle! 

​Activities were scattered throughout the Kirkland Urban campus and included calligraphy artists making personalized creations, a Lunar New Year-themed photo booth, games, and a special raffle for red envelope prizes. 

​Mak Fai Dragon & Lion Dance Association pulled out all the stops with a show-stopping drum performance, setting the background for fan dancers.  

​A Lunar New Year celebration wouldn’t be complete without dragon dancers! The colorful creatures delighted the crowds with energetic choreography and acrobatics. Families were able to see the dancing dragons up close and even take photos afterwards! 

​This year’s celebration was a day to remember. Thank you to all who joined us for the festivities!
