A Year of Community, Celebration, and Unforgettable Moments at Kirkland Urban
As the year draws to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on everything that made 2025 at Kirkland Urban so incredible. From cultural celebrations to family-friendly festivals and warm summer nights filled with music, our plaza has been the heart of it all: bringing together neighbors, friends, families, and visitors to share experiences.
We kicked things off with the Lunar New Year celebration, filled with color, tradition, and performances for the whole family. Baseball fans stepped up to the plate at our Home Run Hangout, where themed activities and big-league fun brought out the kid in all of us (including the Mariner Moose!). June welcomed a lively and love-filled PRIDE celebration, honoring inclusivity and community with music, performances, and powerful moments of connection.
Summer at Kirkland Urban was nothing short of magic. From the Sunset Markets featuring local artisans to our concert series, the plaza buzzed with music, flavor, and summertime excitement. Fall wrapped up with The MOD, where contemporary art met live performances as part of Kirkland’s Umbrella Fringe Festival, and the always-popular Treat Street, where costumes, candy, and kid-friendly activities made it an experience to remember.
And now, with winter’s sparkle in the air, we’re gearing up for our final event of the year: WinterFest! It’s just around the corner, and this year’s celebration promises to be our most energetic yet. Complimentary and open to all, this holiday spectacular will transform the plaza into a joyful winter wonderland filled with festive experiences and picture-perfect memories waiting to happen.
Event Highlights Include:
Photos with Santa in his magical sleigh
Whimsical costumed characters and performers
Live ice sculpting demonstrations
Snowfall on the promenade
Holiday kids’ crafts
Carolers and musical entertainment
Line dancing tutorials with the Boot Boogie Babes
Balloon art from Hoopla
Adorable alpacas from Enchanted Farms’ Mobile Zoo
Sweet treats and giveaways—including complimentary s’mores from Marsh & Mallow Co. (while supplies last)
A variety of festive photo scenes throughout the plaza
WinterFest also happens to fall on Small Business Saturday! We encourage holiday shoppers to shop by KU retailers like Urban Eyes, Walla Walla Clothing Company, and Mud Bay to show support for locally owned and operated businesses this season.
Then, as day turns to night, join the community just steps away at Peter Kirk Park for the annual Tree Lighting Celebration hosted by the Kirkland Downtown Association.
