On the 24th, locally owned shuttle bus-turned-bookmobileBlue Kettle Books parked in the Kirkland Urban Plaza and offered a curated mixture of buzzy, new books and classics. In addition to books, Blue Kettle also offers other adorable items like prints, notecards and journals. It was a whimsical way for kids and adults alike to find their next page turner!

If you missed the first event, no need to worry! Blue Kettle Books will be returning to Kirkland Urban March 30th, April 27th, May 11th and June 22nd!

From books on wheels to books by foot, PopUpStoryWalk made its return! Running through March 16th, Kirkland Urban welcomed Seattle-based author Corey R. Tabor’s Fox and the Bike Ride, a fun-loving story of friendship and adventure for all ages that encourages the audience to continue taking chances. The story begins in the lobby of the 400 Urban Plaza Building (by the blue elevator) and takes families on a walking journey to read the full story at no cost.

The PopUpStoryWalk was also one of the centerpieces of this year’s special KU Kids Leap Day event on February 29th. In addition to participating in the StoryWalk, KU invited families for special activities, crafts, face painting, balloon artists and more – all in honor of Leap Day!

Kirkland Urban wishes you happy readings!
