Kirkland Urban Earth Day 2023 Event Recap
Earth Day 2023 celebrations were in full swing this year at Kirkland Urban! We were proud to partner once again with DTG Recycle and 1 Green Planet to collect electronics and Styrofoam and ForestNation to hand out free tree planting kits. Additionally, select Kirkland Urban businesses opened their doors to the community for the festivities. See the event recap below for some highlights from the special day!
Kirkland Urban loves an opportunity to get dressed up for the occasion. To celebrate the event, Local retailers offered and highlighted sustainable practices and menu items through happy hours, promos, and discounts.
DTG Recycle welcomed guests to learn more about proper ways to recycle.
They even collected special materials to dispose of properly – for free!
ForestNation, in partnership with Kirkland Urban, gave away over 1,000 tree-planting kits. For each kit distributed, they planted 10 trees in deforested areas in Tanzania. The #PlantwithKU trees produce over 1,000 tons of Oxygen each year.
As part of a partnership with The City of Kirkland, the Eastside Bring Your Own Cup campaign gave away locally made Miir mugs for easy reuse around the Kirkland Urban campus.
Delicious spreads were available for all to enjoy at Urban Eyes. Additionally, they gave away two pairs of carbon negative Eco Eyewear glasses – a brand that also plants a tree for every pair purchased.
