The MOD + Umbrella Fringe Festival: A Weekend of Art, Performance, and Community at Kirkland Urban
Kirkland Urban is proud to host The Mod: A Contemporary Art Market, part of the Kirkland Arts Center’s Umbrella Fringe Festival. Taking place Saturday and Sunday, October 4–5 from 11 AM – 5 PM in the Kirkland Urban Plaza, this weekend will bring together a mix of visual art, live performances, and immersive experiences that celebrate the unconventional, the experimental, and the unexpected. All Umbrella Fringe events at Kirkland Urban will be free to attend and are family friendly.
To kick things off, join us at the Kirkland Performance Center for a show by Good Day Sunshine
as they perform Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band! Just steps from Kirkland Urban, it’s the perfect night out to grab dinner, enjoy the show, and take advantage of easy, free parking.
The MOD: A Contemporary Art Market
At the heart of the weekend is The MOD, a contemporary art market held in the Kirkland Urban Plaza featuring 25 modern, abstract, and conceptual artists. Visitors can explore original paintings, sculpture, photography, mixed media, ceramics, and more. Artists will also be onsite so folks can meet the creators behind the work and purchase one-of-a-kind pieces to take home.
Featured Artists include Addy Sechler, Angela Wales, Debbie Bianchi, Esther Loopstra, Hannah Concannon, JJ Caprices, Koray Beauty, mäery lanahan, Michelle Williams, Raili Jänese, Tomoko Suzuki, Valerie Washington, and many more.

Kirkland Urban will be alive with music, spoken word, dance, and comedy curated by the Kirkland Arts Center as part of the Umbrella Fringe Festival:
Saturday, October 4
12–2 PM • Lucy in the Sky — A High-energy Beatles tribute band
2:15–3:15 PM • Zack Pass — Acoustic indie soul
3:30–4 PM • Beatbox Panda — Seattle’s reigning beatbox champion
Sunday, October 5
11–11:30 AM • Taal Tarang — Classical Indian Kathak dance with live storytelling
12–1:30 PM • NST Improvised Electronic — Experimental soundscapes with guest artists
1:45–2:30 PM • Ascended Reality — Spoken word fused with rhythmic soundscapes
2:45–3:30 PM • Eastside Improv— Audience-driven improv comedy
